1 Samuel 16 Music and Spirits

1Sa 16:23  And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

David's music healed Saul of the distress caused by the evil spirit by making the evil spirit leave. I believe the music he played must have been pleasing to God.
I wonder if music displeasing to God would encourage evil spirits to come...

  1. dear has always been a blessing to me.
    i really like the hymn singing at church.
    even though we have no piano there, it is still so calming and a real blessing to be praising the lord.
    now mind you, i really love southern gospel music. we used to go to concerts but they are few and far between now, so i am so happy for youtube!
    i don't know if music displeasing to god would bring on evil spirits but it sure would hurt god's heart if we listened to that and not his music..and i think that it would grieve our own heart.

    Ephesians 5:19
    Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

    great post as usual dimple! terry

  2. I do think that there is music that displeases God and I also believe that music displeasing to God would encourage evil spirits to come.

    I do not know how much knowledge you have of Satanism, but I do know that in the satanic cults music is used to not only invite evil spirits or demons to be present, but it is also used to lure especially children into the cults.

  3. Terry- Thanks for the comment. The verse from Ephesians that you included is a good one; I think that the type of music mentioned there would be pleasing to God, especially since He told us to do it!

    Human-I have learned enough about Satanism to do my work in the Kingdom. I did not know that music is intentionally used to invite evil spirits, but I did know it is used to lure people into evil. Thank you for the information!

I appreciate your comments, and will try to visit you if you leave one.
I hope you have a blessed day!
